Crystal Palace 0-7 Liverpool

After a huge win in midweek against Spurs, Liverpool turned their attentions to Sellhurst Park as they face Crystal Palace, knowing a win would keep them top over Christmas. Liverpool made three changes coming into the game, Minamino replacing Salah being the biggest talking point, aswell as Matip and Keita also coming in to the side. Townsend and Ward came in for Crystal Palace, with Ayew replacing the suspended Benteke.

Liverpool got off to a dream start as Mane found Minamino in the box, and he cooly slotted home to give them the lead within 3 minutes. Palace began to find their feet in the game, but their final ball was off, and Liverpool soon punished in the 35th minute as Mane turned and finished superbly. Firminho added a third right on half time, a perfect start for Liverpool. 

They wasn't done there, they became ruthless in the second half, as Henderson placed a beautiful  finish into the top corner to make it 4. Crystal Palace's day got even worse as red hot Mo Salah was brought on in the 66th minute, and it didn't take long before he was involved, setting up Firminho for his second. Salah then added to the scoreline late on, and it was in the 84th minute he wrapped off Liverpools scintillating with the goal of the day, cutting inside onto his left and curling a perfect strike into the top corner.

There was not much Crystal Palace could have done today, Liverpool were in a different gear from start to finish, sending out a statement to the rest of the league. Roy Hodgesdon's side finish the day dropping down to 13th, wheras Liverpool go 6 points clear of title rivals Spurs.
