Buffalo Bills 48-19 Denver Broncos

19/12/2020

The Buffalo Bills looked to clinch the AFC East for the first time in 25 years as they took the trip to face the Drew Lock lead Denver Broncos. The Bills coming off beating the previously 11-1 Steelers, knew they would need to be at their best to beat the red hot Broncos, who's quaterback Drew Lock just came off a 4 passing TD win against the Panthers.

The Bills got off to a fine start, holding out the broncos and then going up the other end and scoring a touchdown, Josh Allen throwing to Dawson for 6. The Broncos were unable to reply and gave the ball back to Allen, and after a few drives back and forth he rushed in a 24 yard touchdown to give the Bills a 14-0 lead, a perfect start for the Bills. A muffed punt handed the Broncos an opportunity to get back into the game, and they did exactly that. A touchdown run from star running back Melvin Gordon bought the game back down to 7 points, within touching distance for the Broncos. Both teams scored back to back touchdowns in the final 2 minutes of the half, to make it 21-13 going into the half.

Coming out of the half, the Bills turned it into 5th gear, a early 3 yard rushing TD from Allen gave the Bills some breathing room, and then on the next play the Bills Defence came through for a fumble recovery touchdown that gave them a huge lead. A field goal for the Bills late in the 3rd gave them a 25 point lead going into the 4th quarter. Buffalo controlled the game from there, and ended it off with a 51 yard touchdown from RB Mike Singleterry to put the dagger down and the game would end 48-19 to the Bills.

With that win, the Bills clinched the AFC East for the first time since 1995. Josh Allen, with 4 touchdowns on the day, put his name into the MVP race, after setting the BIlls record for TDs in a season with 35. The Broncos playoff hopes are over, and now their attention turns to the draft and next season.
