Manchester United 6-2 Leeds United

It had been 16 years since the last time the rivalry of Leeds and Manchester United was seen in the premier league and it was certainly worth the wait. Both teams came into the game after a win in their previous game, Leeds thrashing Newcastle 5-2, and United beating Sheffield United 3-2. Leeds kept the same team that beat Newcastle, whereas United made 5 changes to the team they played in the week.
It didnt take long for the game to get exciting, as Mctominay found the bottom corner perfectly from the edge of the box in the opening minutes to give United a 1-0 lead. Less then 90 seconds later, Martial found Mctominay again making a run into the box, in which he controlled brilliantly and cooly tucked it home for a quick fire double. Leeds were stunned, and so seemed the United players as Mctominay had a brace in 3 minutes. The game calmed down and despite Leeds having chances to peg one back, United's star man Bruno Fernandes found the back of the net from close range to make it seem out of reach already for Leeds, only 20 minutes in. Lindelof then joined in with a goal from a corner. 4 goals in 37 minutes for Man United, a perfect start to the game. Right on half time however, Liam Cooper met a Raphina corner and headed home to give Leeds a small glimmer of hope at the half.
Halfway through the second half, Dan James, who nearly signed for Leeds a few years ago, made it 5 for United with a tidy finish and United didn't stop there as Martial won a penalty a few minutes later that Fernandes tucked away cooly. Stuart Dallas scored a fine goal for Leeds near the end to give them a consolation goal, and the game ended 6-2.
United putting on a fine show, and the 3 points take them to 3rd in the league, and only 5 points behind the leaders Liverpool, with a game in hand. Leeds on the other hand dropped down to 14th. Both teams put on a spectacle, and they will be wanting to win their games over Christmas to put climb them both up the table.
